Ariel String Quartet – Gainesville, FL
It’s hard to believe, but the Ariel String Quartet – still in their 20s – celebrated their 10th anniversary in 2008. Formed in Israel, the ensemble moved to the United States in 2004 to continue their professional studies. Among their many achievements, the quartet was awarded third prize at the Banff International String Quartet Competition and first prize at the International Franz Schubert and The Music of Modernity competition in Graz, Austria. In 2006, the quartet was named grand prize winners of the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition.
